Curve-billed thrasher on the short brick wall that surrounds my birding spot in my backyard.
This is a juvenile verdin. The adults have yellow heads and red spots on the shoulders.
You can kind of see the shoulders starting to change color. They like to eat the orange slices.
The experts say the color of the male house finch depends on what he eats. Look close and see orange and red feathers.
