Yesterday I went to my super-secret birding spot in Cochise County. It is so secret, I almost got lost getting there. Usually, a giant "X" marks the location, but it was obscured by new green monsoon foliage. Luckily, I saw the street sign at the last minute, hit the brakes, and made the left turn. The place is so secret I have never seen anyone else there. Well, no one else with a camera, anyway.

Vermilion flycatcher with backlight.

Great-tailed grackle.

A very large blue and green dragonfly.

It was flying over the pond.

This lizard with the orange dewlap is a zebra-tailed lizard.

A giant lily flower and giant lily pads in another pond at the absolutely secret birding spot.

More of the giant flowers.
